My New Space!

Happy Monday Everyone!

I am so sorry it has been so long since my last post. I've been very busy the last month getting my new space ready for our February 1st opening. I've been painting, cleaning, shopping, pricing and dreaming about this new endeavor for a few months now.

I want to thank my family and friends for all of their support and help to make this all possible. I want to especially thank my husband, William, who has spent many hours by my side helping me to get everything ready for the big day. I am so grateful for all the help!

As many of you know, I was in a cute little space before. You can read more about it here. I will miss my little building which has already been moved and is ready to be sold, but it is so nice to have a larger climate controlled space. If you are in the area, please stop by and take a look around(1106 Hwy 58 N, Cape Cateret, NC).  Here are a few pictures to give you a peak inside the new space.

I hope you enjoyed the pics! I will try to keep you updated in future posts. I have lots of pretty and cool things to be added to the shop.

A Giveaway from Keswick and Company!

Hi Everyone!
I am on my way to the Atlanta Market to order some items for my shop. I am moving to a new location which is much larger than my previous shop ( read more about it here ).  The new location is much larger and I will be able to carry even more vintage and coastal inspired items!  The previous building will be moved to the new location and sold. Snow Day at the beach!

Hello !
 
 I wanted to share with you something that we don't see around here much, snow! We live on the coast in North Carolina and we woke up to a winter wonderland this morning. Here are a few of the pictures that I took while we were out and about.

Merry Christmas!

Hi Everyone,

I hope you all are enjoying the Christmas season. It has been a busy time for me as usual, but good:) I wanted to share a few pictures of our home decorated for Christmas.


We bought a real tree this year and it smells so good when I walk into this room. It is decorated with the vintage ornaments I've been collecting over the past few years, and a few newer ornaments and white starfish (it's a beach house, gotta have a few beachy things on the tree). I used aqua lt green and natural paper tied with white raffia to wrap our gifts. The full view picture did not turn out very good so I can't show the gift wrap. Sorry about that!

Here are the kids stockings. They are made from a white quilted bedspread that I found at a yard sale. I added the vintage buttons(I think they really add to them). The picture is off centered a bit, I was trying to avoid the black object that is now hanging above the fireplace! I never thought that would happen, but again it's a beach house with limited space and the TV would not fit anywhere else. Everyone seems to be enjoying the new addition, it's growing on me I guess:?
 
This is my vintage look feather tree. It has a few vintage ornaments and our family initial ornaments. The tree was white and I soaked it in tea to give it the aged look. I purchased the  ornaments that have our initials in them from Michaels. I just found a font that I liked on the computer and then printed them out with our printer.
 
This is a nativity that I found at an estate sale a few years ago. I think it is a sweet reminder of what this season is all about!

 
The table has a few ornaments and mercury glass Christmas trees to give it a festive look.

 
I found this tinsel tree at Gibson Mills in Concord last month and added the vintage ornaments and white ribbon. It was already in the vintage aqua bottle filled with sand.  The beautiful Timari ball near the tree was a gift from my Aunt Susie.  Thanks for sharing your talent Aunt Susie!






 

 I couldn't leave out my office! This little tree was a last minute addition. I found it at a thrift store, wrapped the base with burlap and decorated it with some left over shells that were strung on a natural rope.

 
I have several paper white bulbs planted in various containers. Here is one in my office that planted in a paint can and tied with a raffia bow.  They are almost ready to bloom!  I love the little white flowers and the green stems on these bulbs,  what a great color combination So Pretty!

 
This is a picture of a table in our entry downstairs. Sorry the picture is a little dark. I need to work on the lighting in this area. The cloche is made from a glass dome and an old column cap that I found at a flea market. I have collected the vintage look items from various places over a couple of years. The sleigh was a thrift store find that I painted white.

A little more of our home.....

Hi!

I hope that you all had a nice Thanksgiving! We did! It was a very relaxing day in the country with some of our family and friends. I really like being able to visit and catch up on what has been going on with everyone. Oh yeah, and the FOOD was YUMMY!

I've been busy getting the house ready for Christmas. I like to start the weekend after Thanksgiving so we have plenty of time to enjoy the decorations. We decided to get a real tree this year and I love the way it smells when I walk into our great room. I will share some pictures with you a little later.

Today I thought I would share some pictures I took of our great room before I began decorating for Christmas.

 

I've been working on this room over the summer. The back of the bookcase use to be white and I decided to paint it aqua. It's a little lighter than the bookcase that I showed you in the blog about the dining room.

 

As you can see, it's not a big room and that makes it a little difficult to photograph. I hope you can get the general idea of how it looks. Most of the furniture is stuff we have had for awhile. The chairs are slipcovered in a white cotton duck. The sofa is also slipcovered it is the basic grand sofa from Pottery Barn(http://www.potterybarn.com/products/pb-basic-grand-sofa-select-items/?pkey=cpb-bassic-sofa). The coffee table was made from a vintage oak dining table. William, my husband, cut the base down to shorten it and I painted it and distressed it. The end tables are auction and flea market finds.


The lamp between the chairs is a thrift store find. I painted the metal pieces with texture paint then with a water base paint that blends with the shade. I then antiqued over that to give it an aged look. The base is filled with on of my favorite things, SEA GLASS! I have been collecting it when I walk on the beach. It is also in the jar on the fireplace as well as a few other places in our home. You may have seen some on the dresser in our bedroom that I blogged about last week.

It's a light filled room, which I love! It's so nice in to be in a sunny, warm room when it is windy and cold outside. Looks like someone should have gotten the iron out to steam that ottoman!!!! Sorry about that:) I will try to do better next time!
