Hi Everyone!
I wanted to share this cute idea that my neighbor, Grace, shared with me. I was telling her I didn't know what I was going to do with all the pumpkins I had around our house after Thanksgiving. She told me that she made a snowman a few years ago with hers. What a great idea! So here is one that me and my oldest daughter made last Saturday.
It was pretty easy to make. We used a can of leftover primer to paint the pumpkins white, then hot glued them together. We used some buttons for the eyes and main body that I had in my craft supplies. Then, we added some colorful polka dot and solid leftover ribbon for the scarf around the neck. We then decided to make a hat out of some fun Lilly fabric leftover from another project(we just hot glued it together). Then, we finished it off with some small white pom pom fringe from my craft supplies. Very simple and fun!
What do you think? We are expecting a mild winter, so this might be our only chance to have a snowman at the beach;)
Merry Christmas!

A new project to share!
Hi!
I have a little project I wanted to share with you before I begin my very busy weekend.
It is a vintage vanity bench I found awhile back. I love the turned legs on it! It was finished in a dark wood stain and I liked it that way but the finish was a little worn. I decided to paint it a teal green and put off covering the top until I found just the right fabric. Well, that happened when a friend offered me the coolest brown and teal octopus fabric!
Isn't it GREAT? I just love it and it was perfect for my vanity bench. After I covered the top this morning I decided to use a little antiquing stain over the teal paint to tone it down a bit. It really made everything come together!
Thanks for stopping by! I hope you have a great weekend!

A few new/old items for "@ the beach"
Hi !
I wanted to share a few photos of the things I have found while hunting and have recently added to the shop.
The aqua sofa table and corner shelf are very cool and will probably not be around long!
The french china cabinet is great for storage as it has linen like panels behind the glass (things not so attractive are hidden). The two glass lamps are great beachy colors, one is an aqua and the other a yellow green. The memo board is covered in a nice tight burlap and has a stud trim. It would be great in an office, kitchen or mudroom for all those school reminders. It is that time of year again!
This cabinet is perfect for the bathroom. It has great storage potential for linens as well as all many other things.
I found this vintage scale while I was out hunting Labor Day weekend, it's painted a pretty bluish green. I love the happy green color of the stool! Along with the items I've mentioned so far, I also found some cool vintage planters. a pink milk glass vase, great decorating books. some bangles, beaded bracelets, and a metal starfish.
I hope you enjoyed the pictures! I love it when other bloggers share their cool finds! Have any of you had a chance to hunt over the summer? I'd love to see your finds! Take care and enjoy your weekend:)

A Cool Find
Hey!
I found this cool little side table about a month ago and I wanted to share it with you.
It was painted green when I bought it. I painted it white and now I have to decide where to put it. Any suggestions? I do this all the time. I buy something intending to put it in the shop, bring it home, paint it, all the while in the back of my mind thinking about where I could use it in our home:) I think I have a problem! Anyway let me know if you have any suggestions.
Hope you are having a great weekend! I've been shopping for the store and found some great furniture to paint, and yes, I'm doing that thinking in the back of my mind thing again and I haven't even starting painting yet!
:)

Our Beach Cottage Kitchen
Happy Wednesday Everyone!
It is really beginning to look like Spring around here! The weather has been in the 80's the last couple of days and people are beginning to come back to the beach. I've been so busy around here I have not even been over to the ocean! I have been trying to do a little, much needed, Spring cleaning around here. Also, I've been painting furniture for the shop and we have a few other projects going on. Over the last couple of months we have moved our 13 year old son, Tanner, and our almost 12 (B-day is Friday) year old daughter, Kinsley, up to the third floor of our house. I will share their new rooms in a later post. Tanner and Kinsley's old rooms are being converted into guest rooms which need to be painted and I am working on some furniture for them as well. I will show you them later too. I mentioned earlier that I've been spring cleaning which brings me to the last project we have going on. We are trying to get the garage cleaned out so my husband, William, can finally have a room in our home! He says it is long overdue! The garage will probably take the longest time to complete. I'll keep you posted on the progress.
Today I wanted to share some pictures of our kitchen. When we built this house, we built it as a vacation home with thoughts that we might make it our permanent residence. It is not huge by any means, but comfortable.
Our kitchen is equipped with two dishwashers, which has been great, and two ovens. The ovens have not been used as much as the dishwashers. The ovens have been nice to have when the six of us are here. We have a 22 year old son, Tyler, and a 21 year old daughter, Kayla. The extra ovens our also nice to have when we have extended family and friends over. We have a center island which was added after we lived here for a year or two (I really didn't get a good picture of it, sorry!). We also have a bar that we use as our dining area most of the time.
I wish that we had put in two refrigerators and maybe just one oven. I never seem to have enough room for everything in the fridge. I think we could have put two side by side here. Oh well, maybe one day, but for now I will continue to rearrange to make room:)
Below is our pantry, all of our can goods and other food with the exception of the kid's snacks for school is stored here.
We have all our baking stones and cutting boards stored in the basket below. I got the basket idea from The Polished Pebble. Kelley has a great blog and I love to check in with her to see what she has going on. Our everyday dishes are stored on the hanging rack and on the blue cart ( a beach shabby find).
Here is one more picture of our island. Our kitchen, living room and dining room our open, which is nice especially when we are all here.
Well, I guess I should go, but before I do, I wanted to mention that I have linked up with Sara over at A Beach Cottage for the "Good Life Wednesdays" blog party . Know I'm off to finish up some painting. Have a great day and I will talk to you all soon:)

Love of Sea Glass
Happy Wednesday Everyone!
It is beginning to warm up here! I'm so excited because it won't be long until I will be spending much more time walking along our beautiful beach on Topsail Island! In the past few years that we have lived here, I have spent many hours walking the beach with friends family and sometimes by myself. I have collected many treasures during these walks, shells driftwood, fossils, sand dollars, pretty crab shells, and my absolute favorite treasure, SEA GLASS! I thought I would share some pictures of my favorite treasure today.
Sea glass is glass that has been softened around the edges and frosted by being covered and uncovered by the action of the waves and sand. Some of it has been around for decades and some of it is newer. The glass came from shipwrecks along the coast, from being left behind on the beach and from being dumped into the ocean. My favorite time to treasure hunt is during a falling tide. I also like to go after a full moon, when there seems to be more glass and other treasures that have been uncovered by the higher tide. I love to treasure hunt after a storm too. That seems to be when I can find the most unusual treasures. :)
I hope that you enjoyed looking at my treasures today. It has been so long since my last post and it made me happy to get a chance to share with you today. I will be linking up with Sara over at " " A Beach Cottage" for her " Good Life Wednesdays" . Please join me over there! Sara has a beautiful blog and a relaxed beachy style that I just love!
Take care and I will be back soon with another post. I have a few things around my house that I want to share with you. See you soon! Have A great day!
XOXO

PS: I still have not figured out how to grab buttons! Hopefully my sweet neighbor, Grace, has figured it out and will show me:)

Here is one of my collection jars. I took the lid off so you could see the beautiful colors of the glass. |
Here is a lamp that I reworked and filled with more of my treasures. My friend Sara helped me fill this lamp (which was featured in an earlier blog). We like to walk to the pier in the mornings especially late summer and early fall. It is quiet and the water is so beautiful some days. |
Here the glass is displayed in a vintage McCoy planter, another favorite collection of mine.:) |
One last piece to share! My mom noticed this unusual piece of clear. I think it is the bottom of a jar. Doesn't it look like a fish head? |

My New Space!
Happy Monday Everyone!
I am so sorry it has been so long since my last post. I've been very busy the last month getting my new space ready for our February 1st opening. I've been painting, cleaning, shopping, pricing and dreaming about this new endeavor for a few months now.
I want to thank my family and friends for all of their support and help to make this all possible. I want to especially thank my husband, William, who has spent many hours by my side helping me to get everything ready for the big day. I am so grateful for all the help!
As many of you know, I was in a cute little space before. You can read more about it here. I will miss my little building which has already been moved and is ready to be sold, but it is so nice to have a larger climate controlled space. If you are in the area, please stop by and take a look around(1106 Hwy 58 N, Cape Cateret, NC). Here are a few pictures to give you a peak inside the new space.
I hope you enjoyed the pics! I will try to keep you updated in future posts. I have lots of pretty and cool things to be added to the shop.
Thanks again to all who made this possible! I am so grateful!!! Take care and have a good week!

Snow Day at the beach!
Hello !
I wanted to share with you something that we don't see around here much, snow! We live on the coast in North Carolina and we woke up to a winter wonderland this morning. Here are a few of the pictures that I took while we were out and about.
I hope you enjoyed looking at the pictures! I have been very busy lately with all that is going on( I'll share details about that later). It's been nice to have a relaxing day with the family! Our 2 older children Tyler and Kayla are back in college. Wish they could have been here for the snow day too!
Take care, stay well and warm and I will talk to you soon.:)
